The Emanuel M. Papper Endowed Lecture in Pediatric Anesthesiology
Please join us as we welcome Jeevendra A. Martyn, MD, PhD, Chief of Anesthesiology, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Martyn is a graduate of the University of Colombo Medical Faculty, Sri Lanka. He trained in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Intensive Care at Columbia University-Presbyterian Hospital, and continued specialized training in pediatric anesthesia and critical care medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospitals, University of Oxford, England.
From England, he was recruited to the faculty at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children Boston and currently serves as Professor of Anesthesiology, Harvard Medical School, Director, Clinical & Biochemical Pharmacology Laboratory, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Anesthetist-in-Chief, Shriners Hospital for Children, Boston and holds the Judith Hellman Endowed Chair in Anesthesia.
Dr. Martyn will present “Molecular Mechanisms of Injury- and Opioid-induced Pain; a Potential Non-opioid Method to Mitigate Pain.”
