Physician Assistant Emergency Medicine Fellowship

The Physician Assistant Emergency Medicine Fellowship is a 12 month program which welcomed its first fellows in the fall of 2018. The program is designed for PAs to enhance their skills and obtain vital experience in emergency medicine while working under the supervision and guidance of adult and pediatric emergency medicine faculty and physician assistants. Our faculty group includes highly experienced, outstanding educators who are familiar with training in the clinical environment.

We accept 4 fellows per year with 2 focused in general emergency medicine and 2 in pediatric emergency medicine. The program runs for 12 months which includes 26 weeks of clinical time in the Emergency Department as well as multiple clinical rotations outside the department. Fellows have a dedicated didactic learning plan curriculum, journal club and also attend the weekly NYP Emergency Medicine residency conference in order to enhance case based learning, procedural competence and ultrasound.  PA fellows will engage in simulation throughout the fellowship year in the Vagelos Education Center.

Current Fellows are:

  • Claren Anderson, PA
  • Eyan Byron-Fields, PA
  • Leah Chittnick, PA
  • Julia Price, PA

Applications will open on March 1, 2024 for fiscal year 2025 PA Fellowships.

The FY25 PA Fellowships run from Nov 1, 2024 to Oct 31, 2025.
